The Aircraft Preservation Foundation is a registered charity which has a priority aim of preserving historic and iconic aircraft for educational purposes. Some of the aircraft in our collection,
we have saved from certain disposal to scrap metal dealers. In the UK there is very little law governing the significance of aircraft in the history of our country. In the building industry, property
can be added to a listed building register - however, the same does not exist for aircraft. Thankfully, the British Aviation Preservation Council established The National Aviation Heritage Register
which is increasingly including aircraft sections, not just full airworthy aircraft. This provides limited protection to an aircraft, but it still does not provide the same protection in law against
their disposal or neglect.
The primary aims of the A.P.F is to acquire and to make historic aircraft accessible to the public. The reasons for this is to promote education of the past, the present and the future within the
aviation industry. It allows children and adults alike to see the design, and the engineering that contributed towards their design in addition to how these aircraft were used in training, aviation
development or combat.
We are closely linked with a number of air museums and public institutions in the UK, who can work with us to bring the completed exhibits to public exhibition. You can see some of our success
stories on our Aquisitions Page.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?

can donate to The Aircraft Preservation Foundation in a number of ways by looking on the 'donate' page. You can be assured that any donations will go towards the facilitating of our aims, this could
be restoration of one of our aircraft, or on complementing artefacts for our existing exhibits, or on new acquisitions and the technical challenges acquiring large aircraft can be.
